This morning started off with Kent being the first up and making a ham, egg, and cheese English muffin sandwich. Jeff tried brewing coffee from the Mr. Coffee versus yesterday's Keurig pods. We have a coffee bean grinder also, so lots of coffee options for Kent and me as Janie and Sheila are non-coffee consumers.
Jeff has been keeping up with work and association emails each morning, so keeping up with the work is enough that it should be an easy re-entry at the end of two weeks.
Today is starting partly cloudy and high 50's with a chance of light rain at noon. The goal is to get going and grab bear spray on the way to the Glen Alps Trailhead for a hike to Flattop Mountain. Just under 4 miles round trip with 1,300 ft of elevation change. The first test of everyone's health status!! It was tough but everyone made the top!!!
The hike was a pretty normal start-up to the Blueberry Loop. When we got to the Flattop turn off everyone was offered the opportunity to make finish the easy loop. All in to hike to the top!! Lots of great pictures along the way along with some really nice people from local and abroad.

This is Monkshood the most poisonous plant native to North America. Learned that after the hike!
Maggie was a hero in helping Janie push the last 100 ft. of elevation over .1 miles distance. At the top, the wind dropped the temperature, but the view was awesome. Not to mention the thrill of conquering the climb.
On the way down Sheila took a spill and thank goodness was ok. Just a bit of dirt on the backside. Janie's rear showed some of her sliding down from the top.
After our hike, we headed downtown to have a late lunch at "Humpy's". This location was recommended as representing the Anchorage restaurant's non-chain options.
Paulette waited on us and the food was great. Halibut tacos, Halibut hamburger, cheeseburger, and Rueben sandwich. Janie an old fashion to celebrate the hike! Jeff's Denali Belgian Golden Ale was delicious.

After lunch-dinner, we stopped at Carr's one of the local grocery chains for some supplies. Then back to the Airbnb for a shower and try to stay awake. Tired bunch of 60-somethings.
