Talkeetna from Kenai via Anchorage

Goodbye, this morning to the Sterling Cabin.  We really enjoyed the cabin and the peaceful nature.  So much fun hanging out and being close to everything we wanted to do.

4 plus hour drive to Talkeetna.   Only potty stops till Anchorage.

Then up to Lowes in Anchorage to confirm doors for baby Clemow closets.  We were able to get the part code confirmed.  Next step order 2 for the baby and Sarah's closet.  Kent and Jeff will install after the baby shower.

Then lunch at the restaurant that supposedly the owner of our first Airbnb works.  Janie ask the waiter if Billy was working and a strange, um no Billy work here.  The food was good (Vietnamese).

Off to Our next Airbnb versus all the way to Talkeetna today.  A little rain on the way, but pretty much a sunny day.

Our next place is a cabin way off the path.  This is what many would picture as an Alaska home.  We checked out the digs, then Chubby groceries for brats and sweet Italian sausage to cook on the fireplace.

This picture is on the second level.  The steps lead to the third floor.  If you go on the porch there is a ladder to the roof.

New cabin is being built.  Three total so far on the 80 acres.

Cooking Brats - Sweet Italian Sausage on the fire pit.

Kent enjoyed the view from the roof of the third floor.

Eric joined us later in the evening.

The clouds started clearing and we can see Denali.  10:30 pm sunset.  Eric is out hiking in the wetlands below.

Denali - only 30% of visitors get to see.  Wonderful sunset view that kept changing as the clouds from the afternoon moved out of the area.

Hard to see in selfie, but Denali in the distance.
